I ran across these little slimy characters this weekend and couldn’t resist getting them in front of my camera. Here is a little bit of information about a Slug.
On top of the slug, behind the head, is the saddle-shaped mantle, and under this are the genital opening and anus. On one side (almost always the right hand side) of the mantle is a respiratory opening, which is easy to see when open, but difficult to see when closed. This opening is known as the pneumostome.

I am not sure what it is about their eyes. But when they look back at me, I am glad I have a camera to capture that look.
This weekend a few friends and I are traveling to Louisiana to tour and photograph at CHIMP HAVEN…
We will be able to share the joy of watching some of the 111 retired research chimpanzees experience new-found freedoms.
Please share this with everyone you know.

Most Lady Bugs I find are orange but this one was red so he became my best bud today… If you look closely you can see it’s cleaning it’s right antenna with it’s front leg.
I captured this image with my Nikon D800 and Tamron 60mm F2 lens. My settings were:
Shutter Speed – 1/160 Aperture – 4.0 ISO – 400
